FEATURED MINING COMPANY

IAMGOLD CORPORATION

SURINAME

Rosebel Gold Mine: is located in the mineral-rich Brokopondo district in north-eastern Suriname, South America.  Suriname is a former Dutch colony situated in northern South America, bordering the Atlantic Ocean between French Guiana and Guyana.

The Rosebel property lies approximately 85 km south of the capital city of Paramaribo.  The concession covers 170 square km, with the Suriname River to the east, the Saramacca River to the west and the Brokopondo reserve to the south.

The country is approximately 163,270 square km with a population of approximately 500,000.

Mining at Rosebel has been carried out at five open pits to date: Royal Hill, Pay Caro, East Pay Caro Koolhaven and Mayo.  Three additional pits will be mined in future: Rosebel, Roma and J-Zone. Mining is done by conventional open-pit methods, using shovels and trucks.

All of the material mined requires drilling for sampling and grade control purposes. Material is designated as soft rock, transition or hard rock, with the latter two types requiring blasting. Mining progresses according to a planning schedule based on a 3-month forecast. The mining sequence includes drilling, blasting and hauling for both ore and waste rock.

BENEFITS OFFERED: Four percent is the variance over ±10 million tons of ore planned versus tons extracted at 5% variance in headgrade over a period of 8 years where Tacmin Madini formed and integrated part of the planning cycle.
DELIVERABLES:
Pit optimisations,
practical mine designs,
production scheduling,
fleet selections and recommendations, fleet productions and allocations, long-, medium- and short term mine plans, cost engineering, contract administration management, rehabilitation plans
Tacmin Madini experts have designed an integrated in-house process which has to date consistently delivered successful results on all of our projects (results achieved similar to that mentioned under “benefits offered” above). In the vast majority of cases, the process is technically executed, monitored and controlled by Tacmin Madini but managed and implemented by the mine’s personnel and continues to achieve record results. The process requires no capital, is totally transparent and is carried out in association with the mine’s personnel; delivers results within 3 months; has never failed; requires geological and engineering input from the mine and delivers comprehensive implementation plans that works every time.

Deliverables, such as geological models, engineering designs, production schedules, etc., are uploaded onto our off-site server for downloading by our customer’s authorised personnel.
* Mine sampling and grade control A mine planning contract can be done in conjunction with the mine’s in-house grade control and mine mapping activities; alternatively the same can be provided by Tacmin Madini. Whilst grade control and mapping is not a pre-requisite, it optimises the process in every aspect when included.
Software training A mine planning contract can be structured to include the supply, training and support of NETCAD software.
